Spring Is In The Air
I am sure that everyone is enjoying the weather now that winter is over. This means you will probably be dusting off your point and shoots or digital SLR cameras and taking your kids outside for some pictures.
Unfortunately, the weather is still hit or miss and the landscape around us is still recouping so the scenery in not quite the ideal backdrop just yet… Or is it?
My tip for Spring Photographs is that you is to ditch the dreary look and instead bring out as much color as you can. This can be done through your children’s wardrobe or by using certain outdoor locations. Just remember, bright clothing is a good thing, BUSY clothing is not. Stay away from shirts that look as if Jimmy Hendrix puked on them. Too many stripes and colors can be very distracting.
So go outside and deck your kids up with an umbrella, bright yellow rain jacket or sun dress and a pair slush boots. That is always ALWAYS a classic. If you don’t have that then you can always take them to a playground that’s painted in vivid colors and shoot there. The sky is the limit.
Lastly, if all else fails then get close and do some head shots of your children. Fill the frame up with more of them and less of the scenery around you. Easy peasy…

Baby “T” Turns One
This little guy was a champ! He did an amazing job throughout the entire session today and he totally rocked out the photo shoot. He was dressed so spiffy that I thought I was doing a commercial shoot for Gerber or something. And don’t even get me started about those blue eyes!

Baby “O” Turns One
It never fails to amaze me how fast children grow up… I love seeing how much they learn and watch how their personalities form.
This little guy recently turned one so we did one of my classic “cake smash” sessions. Of course he was just too cute so we had to do some other pics as well.

Laura and Mark Engagement Session
Ok, so it is time to start blogging again like the good ol’ days 
Sorry the site has been a bit barren for the past couple weeks. I had some web hosting problems and good stuff like that which had to get cleared up asap.
So…… Anywho.
Laura and Mark are getting married and came all the way down from PA to get their engagement session done. We went over to the Albright Knox Art Gallery and had a great time. I cannot wait for May so we can shoot their wedding. Thanks guys for an amazing time! I had a blast and keep in touch.

Best In Show Contest Winners
Becky and I never imagined that this contest would have had so many participants voting. As you can tell it took us some time to tally up all the numbers. I really want to thank everyone for voting.
We finished tallying things up and have a winner for our 2009 Best in Show contest.
Keith and Lindsay had the most votes and the bride and groom now have an 11×14″ fine art canvas gallery wrap coming their way of the winning image.

Models In The Making
I have been photographing these two for quite a while now and every time has just been so much fun. As we all know, the weather here in Buffalo has been less than stellar so an outdoors shoot was out of the question. It was really nice to change things up and do some high key portraits in the studio.
There is a funny story with that last image. Kailey came out dressed like a little rock star and I said something like “When did Hannah Montana get here?” She just ate that up and got all excited so she was all smiles for the rest of the session. With that, I decided to take a little bit of extra time and make a poster for her. Think she’ll like it?

Introducing Weddings 2.0
Now I am a geek at heart. I absolutely love my gadgets and technology in general. My wife will even vouch for me since I always try to sneak a cool new gadget in her Christmas and Birthday presents whenever I can.
So I was totally psyched when Apple announced their it. I watched Steve Jobs give his Keynote speech on the iPad and immediately hit me how we could use this little gizmo for our business.
Now, don’t get me wrong, the film photographer in me still loves tangible products like fine art proofs, canvas gallery wraps, coffee table books and wedding albums. However, these aren’t always “ideal” for carting around and showing off. An iPad on the other hand weighs in at under 2 lbs. and is the perfect tool to show off your wedding photographs. It’s small, chic and rugged and is the perfect portable solution to showcasing the images from your beautiful day. That is why all Wedding 2.0 Packages will include an album and other tangible items along with an iPad… or two
